Campiche, Roland J.
(1937-) Associate Professor of Sociology of Religion at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and Director of the French-speaking section of the Institut d’éthique sociale de la Fédération des Eglises Protestantes de la Suisse. Secretary General (1985-1989) and President (1991-1995) of the International Society for the Sociology of Religion (SISR).
He has studied the role of values in a changing social environment—with a special interest in urbanization, the family, youth, and energy consumption. His interests include the reconceptualization of the sociological approach of religion, and he has undertaken research on authority and power in Protestantism, the changing role of the clerics, and voluntary work.
