Sociology Of Religion:A Quarterly Review
Originally titled the American Catholic Sociological Review , the official journal of the American Catholic Sociological Society, which was founded in 1938. The Review first appeared in 1940 and included articles on all subjects of concern to Catholic sociologists. In 1964, the journal’s name was changed to Sociological Analysis , and it began more and more to include only material relevant to the sociology of religion. The journal no longer was expected to have a Catholic slant. In 1970, the American Catholic Sociological Society became the Association for the Sociology of Religion. The journal was titled Sociology of Religion in 1993; it is the official publication of the Association for the Sociology of Religion.
