Much of the work of Hartford Institute’s current and former faculty is related to the study of congregational life. The Institute has a long-standing commitment to helping increase the vitality of local churches, mosques, and synagogues, as well as congregations of all other religious traditions. Our research projects, writing, and public presentations focus on understanding and enriching congregational life. This section summarizes scholarly research on congregational life performed over the past four decades. Many articles are available to understand the social dynamics of the congregation.
